Jamie + Jeff's Modern Romantic Wedding Celebration with Lots of Sparkle
Tell us about the subtle bee motif you incorporated throughout your wedding.
I love monograms and the idea of "branding" your wedding. I think having a logo or a key image incorporated into different elements really helps tie things together. I wanted my guests to know I had worked really hard to pull everything together and incorporating our "bee" into so many of the pieces of our wedding helped convey that nothing was there by chance. I picked the "bee" because I thought it was clever play on our married last name "Brun" and visually more interesting than just the letter "B". The irony is of course that I am deathly allergic to bees but I thought that made it even more personal!
Caryn + Kenny’s Summer Wedding at The Renaissance Hotel
How did you find and decide on your dress?
At first I wanted a ballgown, but I am short so I kind of looked like a cupcake (not a cute one). A stylist at a bridal salon suggested the mermaid style and I loved it. I thought I looked like Jessica Rabbit! Va-Va-Voom. Anyway, I wanted a classic dress that I wouldn't look back in 10 years and go WTF? So I picked classic ivory silk mermaid gown with some modern elements including an asymmetric hem and a crumb catcher sweetheart neckline.
A Romantic Outdoor Wedding at Crosley Estate
How was your personal style reflected in your wedding day?
I would describe my personal style as classic with a twist, and I think our wedding was reflective of that. My dress had a simple, flattering silhouette -- and I punched things up with a fun veil and a sparkly barrette for my hair. Our flowers were simple -- white roses and lots of greenery -- which offset the ballroom where the party took place. And for our first dance, we picked a more traditional song – “Everything” by Michael Buble -- and then surprised our guests by doing a choreographed number to Chris Brown's “Forever”. It was so much fun!
Elise + Elijah's Summer Wedding Reception at Newport Aquarium
Erika + Scott's wedding day was a summer dream of joy-filled hearts, dappled sundrops on orchard leaves and an abundance of white roses and peony. Erika's love of all things romantic made Pinecroft at Crosley Estate the perfect venue with its stone walls, elegant grounds and old world charm. Floral walls, hanging lights and twinkling chandeliers added to the resplendent ambiance of the fairy-tale evening. Photography by Veritas Studio.
Samantha + David’s Gatsby Inspired Wedding Celebration
Which best describes you?
Lipstick or Gloss - Lipstick of course! My mom always used to tell me, in true Southern form. "Put your lipstick on.. you'll feel better"
Diamonds or Pearls - Diamonds. But pearls are necessary Rustic or Urban - Urban, with a smidge of rustic to shake it up
Jenna + Ryan's Ault Park Wedding Celebration
What’s your style?
Our wedding was black tie and the mood was a vintage/contemporary Gatsby. I am a sparkle girl at heart so there were definitely elements of that throughout our whole wedding, including the invitations. I chose to have our wedding black tie because it was such a special occasion and to fit the Gatsby mood. Nothing is more fun then getting dressed up for a night of celebrating! I have a classic, edgy style but with our wedding I just wanted a sophisticated, romantic and beautiful evening with stunning flowers, chandeliers, candles and a good deal of sparkle. I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Anna & Nate’s Southern Wedding at Whitehead Manor
The reception was at Ault Park! We had such an amazing crew that helped the day come together. I could not believe my eyes when I finally saw our day come to life. It is something else planning a day, and making decisions and you have no clue how it will all come together. Well my vendors were the A team! Everything was perfect.
Lindsay + Joe’s Dayton Art Museum Wedding
Tell us a little about you and Nate.
Total dreamboat, i’m beyond obsessed. He’s just so good, I come home with so many issues all the time and all he wants to do is fix them. He’s a fixer and a problem solver and that’s what I love most about him. His latest project has been the early planning and ground work on building us a house for our dogs and future family. He’s also really musically talented; he’s good at the guitar and just got a keyboard for Christmas. Since then he’s been serenading me while I cook dinners and sometimes I just don’t understand how I got so lucky.
Wedding Spotlight | Ellie + Jay
How was your personal style reflected in your wedding day?
I have always been all about anything that sparkles and thankfully we found tasteful ways to incorporate that into our day. Our sweetheart table had a sparkle overlay to it and our cake was on a stand that looked like it was covered in diamonds! My dress had a sparkle belt on it and although I wasn’t able to convince the guys to wear any sparkle, my bridesmaids had some sparkle on their dresses.
Caroline + Amir's Cincinnati Country Club Wedding
Ellie + Jay were married on a perfect summer day in July at Saint Rose Church in Cincinnati's East End. The reception followed at Greenacres Art Center, one of our city's most beautiful and historic estates. Tall trees pepper the lawns of Greenacres shading the buildings, walkways, and many carefully planted garden beds.
Josie + Patrick’s Navy and Gold Wedding Celebration
Caroline + Amir's Cincinnati Country Club wedding was a dream of floral delights from the romantic bouquets in pastel with hints of rose and tangerine to the cascade of dahlia and greenery along the staircase bannisters. The travel motif and wooden puzzle escort cards were a nod to Amir's proposal and the weeks that proceeded it. Caroline + Amir's wedding day vision was a reflection of their creative backgrounds brought to life by a team of wonderful vendors. Photographed by Kortnee Kate Photography.
Keisha + Chris's Southern Wedding with Bold Lines and Bright Florals
Josie + Patrick's wedding day was both a celebration of love and a reflection of both of their personalities and styles. The couple added a bit of themselves into traditional and contemporary wedding elements. Josie was lovely in her layered gown and wore Patrick's mother's veil as a special tribute. We love the navy and wine palette for the bridal party which made for gorgeous bouquets of rose and eucalyptus. Burning Chair Photography captured the day.
Lindsey + Chase's Cincinnati Art Museum Wedding & Monastery Event Center Reception
Keisha + Chris were married classic southern style in Music City. Guests enjoyed a festive weekend in Nashville during the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo with plenty to do. The wedding and reception took place at the historic Riverwood Mansion near the banks of the Cumberland River.
Anna + Kenny's Interfaith Mercantile Library Wedding
From the proposal…The very next morning Chase invited her to go out . Yes, if this girl, would accept a date to his all-time favorite movie, Finding Nemo, he was pretty sure that he was finding “the one.” The rest of the summer held festivals, dinner dates, meeting one another’s families and hanging out regularly at Dutch’s.
Katherine + Jackson's Sea Pines Destination Wedding
We always ask our couples how their styles were reflected throughout their wedding day. For Anna + Kenny an interfaith wedding ceremony at The Mercantile Library, one of Cincinnati's historic treasures, followed by a Rhinegeist Brewery reception could not have been more fitting.
Ashley + Brennan's Historic Burnham Hall Wedding Celebration
When hurricane Matthew tore through the Caribbean and the US last fall it left miles of destruction in its wake including the Sea Pines area along the southern end of Hilton Head Island. Thousands of lives were impacted including Katherine + Jackson’s who were planning on an October wedding at the Sea Pines Resort. The wedding was postponed until December and it was worth the wait!
Katie + Paul’s Wedding Day at Glendale Lyceum
Ashley & Brennan’s summer wedding day was a beautiful mix of gold, pink and soft blush. They incorporated contemporary elements seamlessly into the historic atmosphere of The Renaissance Hotel's historic Burnham Hall. The blush, cream, and white floral focal arrangements by Courtenay Lambert Florals transformed the space into a summer dreamland. Jonathan Gibson Photography captured the day beautifully.
Jillian + Kyle's Romantic Cincinnati Wedding Day
Katie and Paul's wedding was an elegant and simple celebration at the historic Glendale Lyceum, a venue often described as one of Cincinnati's "hidden gems". Katie loves the color blue which was tied into the florals, stationery, and reception decor seamlessly. We love the lush floral ceremony arch which was brilliant in the sunny room where the ceremony took place. The day was captured by Leppert Photography.
Kelly Jo + Carlton's Cincinnati Wedding Day with Indian Traditions
Jillian + Kyle were married in a quiet, sunlit wedding ceremony under a glass roof that let the beauty of the day shine on them. Jillian was absolutely gorgeous in her intricate lace gown surrounded by her bridesmaids in flowing blush and blue dresses.
A little bit of rain only added to the intimate and romantic mood of the day. Photography: Samantha's Studio Photography.
Kelly Jo and Carlton's wedding weekend was an utterly gorgeous, artful celebration with a perfect fusion of traditional Indian and American elements. Kelly Jo was radiant in her bridal gown and saree, her hands and feet decorated with intricate henna designs. We love the richly colored silk fabrics and florals that created a stunning feast for the eyes throughout the festivities. Wonderful photography by Claire & Barrett Photography.
