Lindsey + Chase's Cincinnati Art Museum Wedding & Monastery Event Center Reception
An absolutely gorgeous wedding day celebrated at two of the most beautiful and historic places in Cincinnati. Lindsey + Chase were married in a stunning ceremony inside the Great Hall at the Cincinnati Art Museum followed by a candle lit, floral wonderland reception at The Monastery Event Center in Mount Adams. Lindsey + Chase's story and proposal are what dreams are made of and we are honored to have been a part of their celebration. The day was captured by Kortnee Kate Photography.
How did you and Chase meet? What was your first impression of him? What was his first impression of you?
From their wedding website: In the summer of 2013, social media joined two hearts together. Chase and Lindsey, both novice Tinder users, had no idea the novelty would result in fate. When Tinder notified Chase there was a match, he texted Lindsey and what began as small talk turned quickly into lengthy conversations about sports, restaurants, and ordinary life questions. Their first date was three hours of drinks and laughs and easy conversation, they knew there was a connection.
A twist in their care free, easy relationship was about to test the strength of this summer romance. Chase announced he was moving to Nashville due to his job, but before his departure, he had to let Lindsey know his feelings. To prove his commitment he traveled 5 hours home each and every weekend to see Linz.
Chase and Lindsey were on the road to a future they didn’t as yet know, but were confident in their hopes and dreams of exploring this romance of their hearts.
Tell us about the proposal.
From their wedding website: From the first time they met Chase knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Lindsey. To him they were a perfect match for one another and were also best friends.
Lindsey is sentimental and also is really, and we mean really picky. So finding just the right ring was important. In true Lindsey fashion, the couple went on multiple shopping trips searching, and when she found the one she knew it. This is also true as it relates to shoes, purses and Chase. Chase was the one.
Chase knew prior to finalizing his plan he had to talk to Lindsey’s father, Tom. Chase asking for Lindsey’s hand was not a surprise to her family but more so a relief since the Lonergan’s had also fallen in love with Chase. With the Lonergan’s approval the proposal moved forward.
Having three sisters and a mother that loves details has once again proven to make Chase’s life easier. All he needed to do was keep a secret, FOR ONCE. So for approximately 3 months Chase kept his secret and waited till his family’s vacation to pop the question…
Tell us a little about you and Chase.
We are just happy people that love life. We spend a lot of time together because as cliché as it sounds… we are best friends.
The very next morning Chase invited her to go out. Yes, if this girl, would accept a date to his all-time favorite movie, Finding Nemo, he was pretty sure that he was finding “the one.” The rest of the summer held festivals, dinner dates, meeting one another’s families and hanging out regularly at Dutch’s.
On January 5th on a beautiful beach in the Florida Keys, Chase prepares to ask Lindsey. To set the stage a heart shaped box is set was placed under a set of palm trees. The Daniels clan was hiding around the beach to watch Chase and Lindsey walk down the beach. Initially Lindsey thought the walk was to look at fish but this time Chase seemed to be not concerned about the fish, he was pointing to the heart shaped box placed in between the two trees.
Chase turns to Lindsey and says, “Lindsey you are my best friend. You make me the happiest man in the world and there is no other person that I would rather spend my life with than you. Will you marry me?”
Chase took the ring out of the box and slipped it on her finger. Lindsey had tears rolling down her face and could hardly speak. Which if you know Lindsey, this is a big deal. Chase then gets the response he was waiting for… “Yes!”
And the champagne started flowing.
How did you approach wedding planning?
My mother-in-law, I am beyond blessed to have someone as creative and patient to call my planner and mother-in-law. She was the method to the madness.
What was your favorite detail?
Our dessert bar, everyone loves wedding cake but we took it to a whole new level. We had every dessert imaginable: pie pops, gourmet popcorn, cupcakes, candy, donuts. I have a feeling our guests loved it also because there wasn’t any leftovers.
What song did you choose for your first dance?
L.o.v.e. by Nat King Cole
