Maddie + Eli’s Classic Wedding with Watercolor Invitation Suite

Maddie + Eli, like most couples planning a wedding in 2020, were faced with the decision to downsize from a large 250+ celebration to an intimate micro wedding. And, like so many couples who made this decision, found that their wedding day was completely amazing in so many unexpected ways. Maddie + Eli’s day was filled with all the perfect moments including a spontaneous father daughter dance for Maddie and her dad!

Maddie’s wedding stationery vision was classic and timeless. She wanted to incorporate the same white florals with a hint of greenery in her bouquet with the rich burgundy/merlot color her wedding party would wear. We incorporated custom watercolor illustrations throughout the suite, from the fold out main invitation to the envelope liner to the ceremony programs to create an elegant, cohesive look.

Their wedding monogram is encircled in a floral wreath that repeats in the response card and change of plans card. The invitation folds closed and is wrapped in a vellum band covered in watercolor florals and sealed in black with their monogram impression. Native Iris Photography captured the day. How did you and Eli meet?

We met in high school in Sandusky, Ohio! We started dating toward the end of senior year and then did long distance when we went off to college in Toledo and Boston. We then both moved to Cincinnati in 2017 when Maddie started medical school.

Tell us about your wedding day.

Because of the game-changer that was 2020, we had to significantly downsize to a micro-wedding celebration. Our initial planned 250+ person reception with a band and dancing turned into an intimate seated dinner with just close family present.

My favorite moment was being surprised by my dad during his speech. He convinced the jazz band playing in the lobby to play S'Wonderful so we could still have a father-daughter dance & Eli and I could have a true first dance at our wedding. I ended up having the most perfect day!
