Molly + Ted’s Pinecroft at Crosley Estate Wedding Celebration

We have been following bride and blogger extraordinaire, Molly Moran via See Molly Blog for some time and were thrilled when she chose Poeme to create her dream wedding stationery and paper details. Molly takes a candid and open approach to whatever she does and radiates absolute happiness on her wedding day. She tells us why a summer wedding reception at Pinecroft at Crosley Estate was the perfect choice and what she thought the first time she saw her future husband, "If love at first sight exists, I think that’s what I had with Ted".

How did you and Ted meet? What was your first impression of him? What was his first impression of you?

Ted and I met at my sister’s house, and my first impression was more of a feeling of wanting to be around him. If love at first sight exists, I think that’s what I had with Ted. I’m pretty sure Ted’s first impression of me was that I was pretty, and I’m not mad about it haha

Tell us how See Molly Blog came to be and what you love about it.

See Molly Blog was born out of fear and necessity; I was afraid to blog because I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and I compare myself a lot to others. I was worried that whatever blog I created wouldn’t be professional looking, and I would hardly have any readers. However, I needed a creative outlet, and I’ve always loved fashion, beauty, writing, connecting with other like-minded people, and photography, and a blog combined all of those things. So, I stared my self-inflicted fear in the face, and told it that See Molly Blog had to happen. I love that it’s my own little corner of the internet where I can share things that truly excite me, and make my happy. If other people follow along, it’s icing on the cake!

Tell us a little about you and your husband, Ted.

Ted is a lot of things I’m not; financially savvy is a good example, but at the same time he and I are very similar; he’s witty, funny, caring, fiercely loyal, and Ted and I keep a lot of the same values. He’s definitely a great balance for my worrisome, extroverted, and theatrical self!

Did you gather inspiration and ideas from wedding blogs and or social media? If so which ones stand out and why?

I did my best to temper the amount of places from which I drew inspiration. Of course I looked on Pinterest (but I had a cut-off date when I couldn’t look anymore so I wouldn’t be tempted to second guess my decisions!), Knot magazines, and a lot of photography blogs. The blogs of local vendors were most helpful, because I could see things that other brides had done at and with my venue, Pinecroft, and knew that these ideas were attainable. Sometimes Pinterest can be a bit over the top!

The Proposal

Ted proposed on our 2 year anniversary, and disguised the whole thing as a blog shoot. We were down by the river with the city in the background, and just when I thought we were getting some super cute couples’ anniversary pics for my blog, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I’m an ugly crier, so not all of the pictures made my blog!

How was your personal style reflected in your wedding day?

I tried my best to make sure that when people attended my wedding, they immediately said to themselves, “Yeah. Molly totally planned this!” Everything from the colors, blush pink and gold, to the floral centerpieces, first dance choice (Beauty and the Beast because I’m a Disney FANATIC) and quirky escort cards (we had gold animals attached to each) screamed Molly!

How did you decide Pinecroft at Crosley Estate?

My interest in Pinecroft was sparked when I attended my friend’s reception there. I loved that it was a little bit of everything-It’s indoors and outdoors, it’s old but new, and the tent is the perfect canvas to make your own. It was perfect because it gave me a little bit everything-and the staff and food are beyond amazing!

Describe your wedding day. Is there a particular moment that remains in your memory most vividly?

My wedding day was honestly the best, most happy day of my life. I didn’t feel like time went too quickly, I spent time with people that meant the most to me and had time to talk to every single one of them, and I vowed my love to an amazing man that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with. It doesn’t get any better. The moment that sticks out is definitely our first look. Never in my life has anything felt so right and natural as when Ted turned around and saw me in my wedding dress. Something settled inside me, and I knew he was it. He was the one, and we were going to get to be together forever.

Tell us about finding your dress.

Finding my dress was so much fun! I loved everything about wedding planning, but of course the dress was one of the best parts! I swore I didn’t want anything strapless or poofy, because I thought it would seem too predictable. I ended up with a sweetheart neckline, strapless Hayley Paige ballgown. I realized it wasn’t predictable, it was ME! The ladies at Hyde Park Bridal were FABULOUS, and talk about a DREAM job…wonder if they have any openings?

What was your favorite detail?

It’s hard to pick a favorite detail, but the flowers were beyond any of my expectations! They really brought everything together.
